The impact of innovative work behavior on information technology organizations’ performance appraisal: Mediating role of impression management strategies: Evidence from kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Innovative work behavior (IWB) and impression management (IM) are essential to every social or commercial sector's global expansion and development. IWB and IM have evolved as a valuable notion that changes information technology practitioners’ efficiency and performance. The aim of the current study is to investigate the effect of innovative work behavior on information technology organizations’ performance taking into consideration the role of impression management strategies. A cluster sample of 20 information technology companies located in Jeddah were chosen. A total of 418 forms were collected. Only 362 questionnaires were acceptable for the final analysis reflecting 86.6 %. The study's findings confirmed that there is a significant correlation between IWB and organizational performance. On the other hand, the findings revealed that there is no significant relationship between innovative work behavior (IWB) and impression management strategies (IM). In addition, the findings revealed that there is a mediating role of impression management strategies (IM) on the relationship between innovative work behavior (IWB) and organizations’ performance appraisal.
